The Beaver, Canada’s magazine of Canadian History for ninety years, is undergoing a name change. The current issue of the magazine, on newsstands now, will be the last issue to bear the title: henceforth The Beaver will be known by the much more exiting moniker of — wait for it — Canada’s History. Expect their circulation of nearly 49,000 to plummet dramatically as sweaty-palmed boys clue in that what they are really getting the chance to learn about is Montcalm & Wolfe. We at CNQ would love to take advantage of the more lascivious connotations the internet age may have wrung with our name; but, alas, Canadian Notes & Queries remains just as boring now as it was when we published our first issue in 1968.
